DESCRIPTION: AKC Rally is intended as a stepping-stone to the more formal AKC obedience, with many exhibitors doing rally prior to competitive obedience.  Rally classes help prepare the handler/dog team to compete competitively in Rally and have fun working on obedience skills at the same time.

Rally Foundations / Introduction to Rally focus is on the foundation skills needed to perform the various Rally manuevers.   Focus will be on teaching your dog "body awareness" as he learns to execute the various moves, e.g., sidesteps, pivots and back up. This class also includes the foundation skills of: heeling on a leash, sit, down, fronts, finishes, sit/stay, down/stay, etc. Performance at all Rally levels will be improved by teaching these skills. Near the end of the class, the student should be able to perform the signs of a Novice Rally course, although the class does not include doing Rally courses.
