263-441 - SCENTWORK ADVANCED CONTINUING

DESCRIPTION: This class continues to build on the nosework team's search skills in search elements -- containers, interiors, exteriors and vehicles. This class is LEVEL SIX of a six level series. It is intended for dogs preparing for NACSW NW2 and NW3/Elite Competition (or AKC/UKC Superior, Masters and Elite Levels) The complexity of the searches will gradually become more difficult with larger search areas. Searches will include converging odor inaccessible hides, channeling, elevated hides, exterior searches utilizing all weather conditions, timed searches with an unknown number of hides, and searches with Blank or Clear rooms.
PREREQUISITES: (one or more of the following
- Successful completion of Scentwork - Continuing Intermediate
- Instructor permission
WHAT TO BRING:
- Copy of vaccination records
- Buckle collar or harness
- Variety of soft treats
- Crate for your dog
- 6 ft leash and 8-12 long line

263-321 RALLY ALL LEVELS

DESCRIPTION: Rally classes will help prepare the handler/dog team to compete competitively in Rally and have fun working on obedience skills at the same time. Some sessions may cover all Rally levels (Novice/Intermediate/Advanced/Excellent/Masters) in one class. Perfection is not expected. More advanced students will be encouraged to try to work off-leash. There will be instruction on how to perform the various exercises. Training assistance will be tailored to the needs to the handler/dog team. Two or three courses will be worked each week. Visit the American Kennel Club website for a more detailed description of rally (www.akc.org/events/rally/) and rally course stations (www.akc.org/rules/).
PREREQUISITE:
- Successful completion of Household I or Novice I equivalent;
- Instructor's permission;
- The handler/dog team is expected to have the basics of heeling (without leash pulling), fronts, and finishes.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Copy of vaccination records
- 4-6 ft leash
- Buckle collar
- Variety of small, easy to eat treats
- Students should bring a portable crate to use when walking the courses.

263-557 - AGILITY OPEN/EXCELLENT LEVEL

DESCRIPTION: This class is designed for teams competing in or ready to compete in Excellent. The class will focus on refining handling skills and will practice sequences found in the upper level classes.
PREREQUISITES:
- Successful completion of Agility Open Level class,
- Showing at the Open level or Excellent level
- Performing full height jumps and contacts
- Able to successfully complete 12 weave poles
- Able to perform a full course obstacle sequence
WHAT TO BRING:
- Buckle collar
- 4-6 foot leash
- Variety of hard treats (that do not crumble easily)
- Crate for the dog when not working on the course
- Extra pair of clean shoes to be used when training on the turf

DESCRIPTION: The skills introduced in Agility Beginning Handling will continue to be covered in Agility Maneuvers. New skills to be introduced and existing skills perfected. Existing skills to be perfected include: crosses (front, rear, blind); contacts and weaves. New skills to be introduced include increasing distance between handler and dog; increasing the number of obstacles in a sequence; working toward full height jumps; successfully performing 6 weave poles without aids.
PREREQUISITES:
- Successful completion of Agility Beginning Handling
- Solid sit stay and/or down stay
- Solid recall when exposed to distractions
- Able to perform a front, rear, and blind cross
- Able to achieve a start line stay
- Able to perform a short obstacle sequence

DESCRIPTION: The skills introduced in Agility Foundations 2 will continue to be covered in Agility Beginning Handling. New skills to be introduced include: additional crosses (rear, blind); increasing jump heights; short sequences; sequences with contacts or weaves or tunnels.
PREREQUISITES:
- Successful completion of Agility Foundations 2
- Solid sit stay and/or down stay
- Solid recall when exposed to distractions

- Able to achieve a start line stay
