262-561 - AGILITY EXCELLENT/MASTER LEVEL

Calendar Mar 18, 2026 at 11 am, runs for 6 weeks

DESCRIPTION: This class is designed for teams competing in or ready to compete in the upper level classes (Excellent/Master). Teams will practice sequences found in Excellent/Master courses and will continue to refine handling skills so that they can successfully perform at the upper levels of agility. 

PREREQUISITES (at least one of the following):

  • Successful completion of Agility Open Level or an Open Agility title
  • Competing at the Excellent or Master level
  • Ready to compete at the Excellent level
  • Instructor approval

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Buckle collar
  • 4-6 foot leash 
  • Variety of hard treats (that do not crumble easily) 
  • Crate for the dog when not working on the course 
  • Extra pair of clean shoes to be used when training on the turf

262-536 - AGILITY OPEN LEVEL

Calendar Mar 18, 2026 at 7 pm, runs for 6 weeks

DESCRIPTION: This class is designed for teams competing in or ready to compete in Open. The class will focus on refining handling skills and will practice sequences found in the upper level classes.

PREREQUISITES:

  • Successful completion of Agility Novice Level, showing at the Novice/Starters level, or successful completion of Novice/Starters Agility title
  • Performing full height jumps and contacts
  • Able to successfully complete 12 weave poles
  • Able to perform a full course obstacle sequence

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Buckle collar
  • 4-6 foot leash
  • Variety of hard treats (that do not crumble easily) 
  • Crate for the dog when not working on the course

Open and Utility exercises are covered in this classes. When offered, this class expects that handler/dog team has completed all necessary training for the exercises at the Open and Utility level and only needs additional proofing/practice opportunities. A proofing/practice class may cover more than one level in same class.

 PREREQUISITE: (one or more of the following)

  • Solid retrieve with a dumbbell required
  • Successful completion of Open class 
  • Competing at the Utility level (UD)
  • Instructor approval

262-502 - INTRODUCTION TO AGILITY FOUNDATIONS (continuing)

DESCRIPTION:  Agility is a fun event for the dog and handler.  Basic control skills are required before beginning agility training. Introduction to Agility is designed to give people a chance to experience agility. This class is not meant to teach any skill to a proficient level. Minimum skills to be explored include: running a dog on both the left and right side; introduction to contacts at a low level; short sequences using jumps at a low level; stay/release/recall; how/when to reward. This class is primarily for people who have not done agility before.  With instructor permission, those familiar with agility or training dogs may skip this class and begin with Agility Foundations 1.

 PREREQUISITES:

  • Dog over 12 months of age
  • Physically sound and able to run and jump
  • Completion of Obedience Household 1 or equivalent
  • Solid sit stay and/or down stay
  • Solid recall when exposed to distractions
  • Demonstrates ability to walk on a loose leash
  • Willingness to stay in crate without whining or barking

262-616 TRACKING - ALL LEVELS

Calendar Mar 26, 2026 at 9 am, runs for 6 weeks

DESCRIPTION: Learn to teach your dog to distinguish and follow a specific and slightly aged human scent. Class meets at various locations as determined by the instructor. Sessions last 2-3 hours minimum. The instructor will inform you where the first class will meet if it will not be at  AADTC.  The equipment needed will be discussed at the first class.

PREREQUISITE:

  • No minimum age or previous training needed for Intro to Tracking 
  • Up-to-date vaccinations
  • If you dog can tolerate and your vet recommends, it is suggested that your dog have the Leptospirosis vaccination as you will be outdoors

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Copy of your vaccination records
  • Buckle collar
  • 4-6 ft leash
  • Variety of small, easy to eat treats
  • Outerwear for you and protection for you dog appropriate for the weather
